Marble

An elite product of Nature. Marble, formed from limestone with heat and pressure causing metamorphism over years in the earth’s crust. This pressure forces the limestone to change in texture and composition.

The process is called recrystallisation. Fossilised materials in the limestone, along with its original carbonate minerals, recrystallise and form large, coarse grains of calcite. It usually contains other minerals such as: clay minerals, micas, quartz, pyrite, iron oxides and graphite. Polishing marble rock will bring out the handsome grain properties of the rock. The various swirls and veins that are often found within marble can be attributed to various mineral impurities.

The end result of these different impurities can lead to unique and interesting colour combinations, like many other metamorphic rocks. With no two slabs identically the same, your design will be unique to your home.

NOTE: Colour swatches are a guideline only. Physical samples can be provided upon request
